By the time you receive your July newsletter, hopefully, I will be recovering successfully from my hip replacement. As I type this, I hope that everyone that has told me that hip replacements are “a piece of cake” were correct!! After I am able to get up and around, I can continue to publish more information that may be helpful to the senior population.

One thing that I can mention now is that we purchased small gold plaques which have engraved the names of people who will be receiving a brick in our proposed walkway whenever we are able to get started on our addition. So, keep supporting our fundraisers and donations towards bricks in memory of….

And also, maybe soon, we will be having an attorney write up a petition that we will encourage all of you to sign in hopes of having the commissioners and powers that be provide the necessary funds to put on our much-needed addition.

So, until the next time, have a wonderful 4th of July. Enjoy the Mardi Gras parade and all the festivities that are part of the five-day celebration as well as the tall ships that are scheduled to be in our harbor.

Surgery date is June 12 and I am so looking forward to getting this done. I have nerve damage in that leg as well and I know that there will be still be pain, but not to the extent it is now. But I am taking one step at a time and maybe there is something that will help alleviate the pain that remains.

A Note From Chris:

The Fairport Mardi Gras is almost here. This week-long event has something for every age. Don’t forget to come out to support our “Senior of the Year – Connie Pachete” and to celebrate our country’s independence with the fireworks display on the 4th!

Make sure you check out the photos from June’s NE Ohio Senior Games in this month’s newsletter.
