Can you believe it???
Here it is July, 2010. It seems like I have just put away my snow blower. I also know that I have been mowing grass for 2 months already. Is there any truth in that there is a conspiracy to speed up time for those who are Senior Citizens when they take their short naps. What caused time to move so slow when you and I were growing up and we wanted to be 16 and drive? My guess is that it is not a conspiracy it just happens because our wishes dictate how fast time seems to slow down or how it seems to speed up. As a Senior Citizen I observe many Seniors who live a fast paced lifestyle. (Fast cars, stock market, computers etc.) I also see many Seniors who are struggling to be a part of the 21st Century. (Fixed income, choices of medicine, food, housing, seeking employment.) But the majority of the seniors I know are in the middle of the Senior Citizen group. (sufficient income, good housing, fairly healthy.) I want to encourage our Seniors at the Center to take advantage of the resources available at the Center. Keep your body shipshape by using the classes and equipment for all of your needs. Remember your mind needs to be in tune also. Take advantage of the many games and programs that are provided free of charge. Also skilled activities such as Quilting, Art and Music. You can also test your skills by shooting pool. But I believe the greatest thing this Center has to offer is FRIENDSHIP! Although many of our programs are scheduled by the day and the hour FRIENDSHIPS can be developed Monday thru Friday from 8am to 4pm at the Fairport Senior Center.
Do yourself a favor – TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT.
